A quick post to check in on you and let you know what I’m trying to do to help everyone stay healthy and strong. I’m not going to tell you to chug elderberry syrup or mandate you get 14 hours of sleep per day, but I AM compiling all my skills to provide you an option that will get/keep you healthy during this challenging time!
Currently, on a macro level, we are being told what to do. This pandemic is largely out of our control, and we are being mandated to do things that are uncomfortable. Things that are hard. And in the discomfort of this new (but temporary) way of living, I find people are really struggling with direction. Because on the flip side, on a more micro level, we are now at home and coming up with our own schedules and NOT being told what to do. It’s easy to get lost in this. This is where my idea comes in. I want to help everyone at home regain a sense of wellbeing; while only taking 10 minutes out of your day. Small hinges swing big doors.
The series of 7-Day Challenges was the answer to a question I asked myself last night – “how can I help?”
Well, I’m a Holistic Nutrition and Fitness Coach, have a lot of knowledge and experience in behavior change, know the power of accountability, and have my PHD in brainwashing and torture (kidding!). My goal is to bring people together on a platform and provide a 10-minute assignment everyday that will make us healthier. Because some days 10 minutes is all we have, and I know and respect that. So I’m here to tell you how to use those 10 minutes to become a little bit healthier than you already are. One day at a time.
Enter: 7-Day Challenges. Each challenge will not exceed 10 minutes, and is to be completed once per day. The challenges will vary between Nutrition (i.e. add-in this, decrease that, drink more of this etc.) and Exercise (no equipment required, body-weight only, any fitness level), with a sprinkling of Lifestyle challenges (i.e. sleep, connection, stress management) with the theme changing weekly. Best part? There will be a box to check once you’ve completed each day! If that isn’t the most gratifying thing in the world than please tell me what is.
Cost? It’s not free, but darn close to it. In order to remain accountable and consistent, you need to invest some money. In this case, it costs $1 a day. That’s $7 a week. So many people have lost their jobs without pay, and I want to be as sensitive to that as I can. If you have more to give, and feel that if you invest more money you’ll be more likely to succeed, then you do you! I’m doing my best to support the local farms here by buying exclusively from them, so know that your dollar/day will have a positive ripple effect.
I’ll be doing at least 4 weeks worth of challenges, so you can commit to all 4 weeks and pay the $28 in full, or you can pay $7 each Sunday. Each new challenge begins on Monday.
